Did you know, Short-term fasting can offer excellent health benefits.

As research grows in this area of health, fasting is becoming more widely accepted as a legitimate means of managing weight and preventing disease. Fasting cleanses our body of toxins and forces cells into processes that are not usually stimulated when a steady stream of fuel from food is always present. Because our bodies conserve energy during fasting, our basal metabolic rate (the amount of energy our bodies burn while resting) becomes more efficient, thereby lowering our heart rate and blood pressure.

Great job everyone!!! I have completed two weeks 🎊🎊

Keeping busy has been my way to success with this. Also having a spinach packed smoothie with fruit and oat milk is how I’m starting and who knows maybe by the end I’ll be able to do without! The hours that work best for me are 7pm to 7pm!

I completed my first week of 24hr fasting this past Monday. I had half of a smoothie late afternoon to ease into things. I staved off hunger the last few hours by prepping a hardy broth for ramen as my fast breaking meal. Chopping lots of veggies not only kept me occupied but also helped me get through those last two hours when I was beginning to feel hangry. Ironically, I wasn’t starving once the fast ended and finally sat down to eat.

Just thought I’d share my experience too.

Dear Gritfit family, I have just finished week 3of a 24 hour fast. The key for me has been getting past the initial wave of hunger. Week 1 I did allow myself to have a smoothie mid morning otherwise I have made it with green tea only, no honey 😊. Best to us all. Tammy

Way to go Tammy! Green tea is amazing I may make it to that one day :) so far still doing one smoothie during the 24 hour 🎊
